Adelaide Practice Group

Adelaide has a small but active collaborative practice group meeting monthly with the support of the Law Society of South Australia. The practice group has a strategic planning committee which is developing a strategic plan for approval by the Group.
The Group has mission of educating members and promoting the use of collaborative practice.
If you want to engage a good collaborative practitioner a good place to start is to ask them if they are actively involved in their local practice group. You cannot be a collaborative practitioner without being part of an active practice group.

  1. I couldn't agree with this sound advice more! One of the hallmarks of successful collaborative practice is that both lawyers need to have a relationship of trust - we need to be sure that we are both working with our clients in the same way to promote settlements that benefit the family as a whole, and the best way for us to be sure that we are all working in the same way is active participation in a practice group. We run training at most meetings so we also can be sure that practitioners who do this work and come to meetings are committed to increasing their knowledge and competence. Thanks for raising this important point Christopher - keep up the good work! Bev
